Key purpose of Docking
Station or Port Replicator
The key purpose in a docking
station is to reduce wear and tear on your notebook. When used in a home or
office setting, many notebook users often have several devices plugged into
their notebook. The docking station allows you to keep those devices installed
for your notebook to use, but minimize the amount of times you have to plug /
unplug those devices into the back or sides of your notebook.
Wear and strain to the connections on the back of your notebook are some of the
leading causes of damaged / broken notebooks. Specifically, the internal
motherboard assembly on which those rear connections are mounted to. Over time,
the constant plugging and un-plugging of a connection on the back of the
notebook will strain those electrical and physical connections.
Also, some Docking stations and Port Replicator may provide added functions /
features normally not included with the original notebook or laptop computer. |
