Microsoft Project Professional 2002 - Upgrade(Part#:H30-00188)
Brand New, Factory Sealed,
Upgrade Version Retail Box
Microsoft® Project Professional 2002 is the new Microsoft
Office project management program intended to be used with Microsoft Project
Server 2002 for enterprise project management. It has all the core project
management features found in Microsoft Project Standard, so you can manage your
project plans, communicate project status, and report project information
quickly and efficiently. When used with Microsoft Project Server, it also
includes enterprise resource management capabilities and portfolio management
features, such as real-time reporting and scenario analysis tools. These tools
enable project managers and business decision-makers to view project and
resource information across their department or entire organization.
To achieve the full benefit of the enterprise resource and portfolio management
features, Microsoft Project Professional must be used with Microsoft Project
Server and Microsoft Project Server Client Access License(s) (CALs).
• Microsoft Project Server centrally stores the project and resource information
that is published from Microsoft Project Professional. Microsoft Project Server
extends this information to project teams through its Web portal, called
Microsoft Project Web Access.
• Microsoft Project Server CALs provide team members and stakeholders with
access and edit rights to personalized views of project information - without
requiring them to have a copy of Microsoft Project on their desktop. All your
team needs is CALs and a Web browser to view, analyze and interact with project
information through Microsoft Project Web Access. In Microsoft Project Web
Access, team members can enter task progress, which can automatically be updated
into the project plan in Microsoft Project Professional.
Features
- Manage projects smarter and more
efficiently. Microsoft Project Professional includes all the core
project management features included in Microsoft Project Standard,
so you can easily and quickly set up task and resource assignments
and track and report project progress.
- Manage resources across your
organization*. Get accurate information about resource utilization
and skills across your organization. With Microsoft Project
Professional, you can assemble the best team for each project based
on resource skills and assignments with the help of new features
like Resource Substitution Wizard and Build Team from Enterprise.
Use the Resource Center in Microsoft Project Web Access to view,
group, and edit resource information and even evaluate resource
utilization and availability across multiple projects.
- Share Information*. Give team
members and stakeholders the ability to view, update and analyze
project information right from their Web browsers. Let team members,
external partners, and other stakeholders easily access and analyze
role-specific information through Microsoft Project Web Access —
only Microsoft Project Server CALs are required. Enhance project
collaboration and knowledge sharing with SharePoint™ Team Services
from Microsoft, which provides a central location for organizing and
tracking project-related documents and issues.
- Analyze and report project
information*. Microsoft Project Professional – along with Microsoft
Project Server and CALs - delivers portfolio management, real-time
reporting, analysis, and modeling capabilities. Once project plans
have been published from Microsoft Project Professional to Microsoft
Project Server, project managers, executives, and other stakeholders
can use Microsoft Project Web Access – the Microsoft Project Server
Web interface - to analyze project data across their organization.
- Promote Standardization*. Deploy
enterprise templates and custom fields that enable consistent
reporting across your project portfolio. Use the enterprise global
template to define key resource information, such as skills and
location, to better evaluate schedules, costs, and utilization rates
across the organization.
- Requires Microsoft Project Server
2002 and Microsoft Project Server Client Access License(s) (CALs)
for workgroup collaboration and/or enterprise project management.
Microsoft Project Server includes Microsoft SharePoint™ Team
Services and Microsoft SQL Server™ 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE).
Microsoft Project Server 2002 requires Microsoft Windows® 2000
Server. For enterprise project management, Microsoft Project Server
2002 requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Analysis Services
(included with Microsoft SQL Server 2000) for OLAP reporting.
